Totteridge War Memorial

History

This memorial was first designed to commemorate the lives of the men and women of Totteridge Village who gave their lives in the service to their country in the First World War.  Twenty six names were etched into the memorial as a lasting reminder of those we must never forget.  This memorial was designed by Sir Charles Allom whose son and daughter are commemorated.

A further 33 names were added after the Second World War.  This website gives details of these men and their heroic actions.  Each has a "personal story" that I hope I have conveyed with accuracy and compassion.  Some of the stories can now be told as records have been kept secret for over 80 years.  Please let me know if you have additional information about any of the men.  I am happy to be corrected if their are any errors or omissions.
