Husband of Irene L. Bailey, 88 Greenway, Totteridge. Son of Charles Ernest and Beatrice Mabel Bailey.

Leslie was released from his role at the Bank of England to join the Royal Artillery on 24 August 1939. He died of toxic hepatitis in Cairo. There is limited information regarding his service record. He is remembered in the ”Old Lady of Threadneedle Street” memorial to fallen colleagues. During his time at the Bank of England, he had been a keen member of the Dramatic Society
